Objective
Our self-service request supports generating letters using the customer’s in-house template, which we refer to as a third-party report. This document explains how to use your own report to replace the Soletechs standard report.
Prerequisites
- The customer must have their own model, with a reference to the SDS model.
- The new report must be created in the customer’s own model (not in the SDS model).
Steps to Create the SSRS Report
- Create a new SSRS Report in the customer’s model.
- Add a new Dataset:
- Name:
LetterDS - Data Source Type:
ReportDataProvider - Class:
SDSLetterReportDP - Fields: Select all fields
- Name:
- Click OK to save the dataset.
- Create a new Precision Design.
- Design the report layout as per customer requirements.
- Build the report.
- Deploy the report.
Change the Report Design Configuration
- Open the Report Setup screen for Letters.
- In Design Source, select Third-Party Report.
- In Third-Party Report, select your new report name from the lookup.
- In Custom Design, select your Precision Design name.
